Business consulting professionals reviewing strategy documents in a bright office

Business consulting that actually changes your numbers

We work with owner-managed businesses across Scotland. Our focus is specific: find the operational drag, fix the financial leaks, and build a growth plan you can execute with the team you already have. Most engagements run 8 to 14 weeks.

01

Diagnostic conversation

A 30-minute call where we listen more than we talk. We want to understand your revenue model, your team structure, and the one problem keeping you up at night. No slides, no pitch deck.

02

Data deep-dive

We spend two weeks inside your accounts, CRM and operations data. We map cash-flow patterns, identify margin erosion, and benchmark your overhead against comparable Scottish businesses in your sector.

03

Action blueprint

You receive a prioritised list of changes, not a 60-page report. Each recommendation includes expected financial impact, implementation timeline, and the person on your team who should own it.

04

Guided execution

We stay involved for 6 to 12 weeks after handover. Fortnightly check-ins, KPI tracking, and direct support when your team hits a roadblock. We measure ourselves on your profit improvement, not hours billed.

Each service below can be booked standalone or as part of a full engagement. Pricing is project-based, never hourly.

Financial health review

We dissect your P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statement line by line. You get a written summary of where profit is leaking and a costed plan to plug the gaps. Typical turnaround is 10 working days from receiving your data.

Operations efficiency audit

We shadow your team for a week, map every process from order intake to delivery, and highlight the steps that cost time without adding value. Clients typically recover 6 to 11 hours of productive time per week after implementing our recommendations.

Growth strategy development

Market sizing, competitor analysis, pricing model review, and channel selection for the next 12 to 24 months. We build the plan with your leadership team over three workshops so there is genuine buy-in before the document leaves the room.

Management team coaching

Monthly one-to-one sessions with each member of your senior team. We focus on decision-making frameworks, delegation habits, and financial literacy. Minimum commitment is three months because real behavioural change takes at least that long.

Succession and exit planning

Whether you want to hand the business to a family member or sell to a third party, we help you prepare. Valuation modelling, buyer profiling, tax-efficient structuring, and a 12-month readiness checklist. We have partnered on seven successful exits in the past three years.

How much does a typical engagement cost?
A standalone financial health review starts at £2,800. A full strategy-plus-execution engagement for a business turning over £1M to £5M usually falls between £8,000 and £15,000, depending on scope. We agree a fixed fee before any work begins, so there are no surprise invoices.
Do you only work with businesses in Scotland?
Most of our clients are based in Scotland because local market knowledge matters when we benchmark your performance. That said, we have worked with businesses in the north of England and Northern Ireland. If your challenge is operational or financial rather than market-specific, geography is less of a constraint.
What size of business do you typically advise?
Owner-managed businesses with 5 to 80 employees and annual revenue between £500K and £10M. Smaller than that and the investment may not justify the return. Larger than that and you probably need a bigger consultancy with deeper sector-specific benches.
Will you implement the changes or just recommend them?
Both. The action blueprint is a deliverable you own. The guided execution phase means we stay alongside your team to make sure the recommendations are actually carried out. We track progress against agreed KPIs and adjust the plan if circumstances shift.
How do you measure success?
We agree on two or three financial metrics at the start: gross margin percentage, monthly recurring revenue, debtor days, or whatever matters most to your business. At the end of the engagement we compare the numbers. If we have not moved them, we have not done our job.
What happens during the free diagnostic call?
You talk, we listen. We will ask about your revenue model, your team, and the specific challenge you want to solve. By the end of the 30 minutes you will know whether we are the right fit, and we will know whether we can genuinely help. There is no obligation and no follow-up pressure.
